This page sets out what this service provides and what it does not. Calculation and interpretation are different in kind. A calculation can be redone and shown to be right or wrong; an interpretation cannot. So the two layers are described separately.

What this service provides

This service provides two things.

• A computed chart. From the birth date, birth time and birth city you enter, it computes the eight characters of the Four Pillars along with the luck cycle, the year, month and day pillars.
• Rule-based interpretive text. Sentences produced by applying fixed rule tables to that computed chart.

Both the calculation and the rule application are deterministic. The same input on the same engine version returns the same result, whenever and however often you ask. No person intervenes in between, and there is no random element anywhere in the path.

This is not the provision of supernatural ability, spiritual insight or foreknowledge. It is a set of rules from the traditional literature written out as code. This service is offered for reflection and entertainment; it is not offered as, and must not be relied on as, a prediction of future events.

The calculation layer — where accuracy can be claimed

The following are astronomical and calendrical facts. A third party can recompute them independently and establish whether they are right or wrong. For this part, the service does claim to calculate accurately.

• Solar term ingress times (from the Sun's apparent longitude) and the year and month pillar boundaries that follow from them
• The local standard time history of the birth place and whether daylight saving time applied (IANA time zone database)
• Local mean solar time correction from the longitude of the birth place
• The equation of time (up to roughly ±16 minutes over the year)
• The date boundary and the hour pillar interval, both taken in apparent solar time

If something here is wrong, it is an error. Tell us and it gets fixed.

The calculation layer has limits too.

• The IANA time zone database does not warrant time zone history before 1970. For a person born outside Korea before then, the applicable time zone is itself uncertain, and that is not something this service can fix.
• If the birth time is not given, this service assumes one and says so on the result screen: the middle of the range you chose (00:00–06:00 becomes 03:00), or noon when the time is unknown. The year and month pillars stay correct, the day pillar is right about 96% of the time at noon, but the hour pillar is a guess — roughly one in three within a six-hour range, one in twelve when the time is unknown. Everything derived from the hour pillar, including the luck cycle and the field signals, inherits that uncertainty. Enter an exact time to remove it.
• Four Pillars practice contains design choices on which schools differ — where to put the day boundary, how to decide which hidden stem governs, and others. This calculator picks one option and applies it consistently throughout. Results may differ from another calculator, and that means the choices differ, not that one side computed incorrectly.

The interpretation layer — where accuracy is not claimed

Interpretation is different. The rules that turn eight characters into dispositions and per-topic signals are heuristics this service assembled in code from the traditional literature. They are not the kind of thing that can be verified the way an astronomical calculation can.

These interpretation rules have never been calibrated against expert-reviewed data or against real outcomes reported by users. The methodology confidence the service declares for itself differs by layer.

These values are present verbatim in the server response (method_confidence, validation_status). "Uncalibrated" is service_heuristic_uncalibrated or service_pilot_uncalibrated in code.

The service therefore makes no claim about the hit rate, accuracy or effectiveness of its interpretations. It is also why the shorter the period, the weaker the wording: a statement about a single day cannot be verified at all.

Anything about work and careers

• The career section is not an aptitude test. It is not a psychometric instrument and has been through no standardisation or validation procedure.
• It picks three to five of eight broad job families. Every individual confidence value is low, and the feature is at pilot stage.
• The output is not evenly distributed. The top four job families take 97% of the first-place slot. Many users receive results that look much like one another. It must not be read as a personalised diagnosis.
• It appears only on the lifetime view and only when an exact birth time is available. No job families are suggested for today, this month or this year.
• It does not predict hiring, promotion, income or success.

Subjects this service does not address

This service does not address the following. There are no rules in the rule tables that decide these subjects at all.

• Health, illness, diagnosis, treatment
• Lifespan and death
• Accidents and disasters
• Mental illness
• Pregnancy and childbirth
• Divorce
• Compatibility, or suitability with a particular other person

Nor does it settle events such as passing or failing an examination, promotion, profit or loss. What the service produces is a structured signal, not an event.

This does not replace a professional

This service does not replace the diagnosis or advice of a medical, legal, financial or psychological professional. The people operating it are not qualified in those fields.

This item is slightly different in kind from the others on this page. The "subjects this service does not address" section above states a fact about the rule tables — no such rules exist. This item is not written because a matching check exists in the code; it is declared as a condition of using this service.

Please do not use these results as a reason to delay treatment, change medication, or decide a contract, a lawsuit, a move or a change of job. Where such a decision is needed, it belongs with a qualified professional.

The limits of anything said about money

• In the wealth topic, the actions the service will suggest go no further than reviewing a budget, comparing terms, gathering information, and consulting a qualified professional.
• It does not produce instruments to buy or sell, dates to execute a trade, expected returns or loss figures, or any guarantee of profit.
• This service does not provide advice on, or sell, financial investment products.

The language model used to polish sentences

An external language model (GPT-5.6 Luna) may be used to make the interpretive sentences read better. These are the boundaries of that role.

• The model does not calculate. The eight characters, the strength assessment, the topic signals and the selection of job families are all decided by fixed rules on the server. The model only edits and connects sentences that have already been chosen.
• What is sent to the model is limited to rule IDs, the localised sentence for each rule, and whether it is required. Birth date, birth time, birth city, coordinates, gender and the query date are not sent.
• The model's output must pass a validator. If it contains a number that was not in the input, a rule ID from another topic, an occupation outside the permitted list, or a definite prediction or medical claim, that block is rejected and reverts to the fixed rule sentences.
• This feature is off by default. While it is off, only the fixed rule sentences are served and no call to an external model takes place.

The decision is yours

What you do after reading a result is up to you. Decisions taken with a result in mind, and the consequences of those decisions, belong to you. This service does not instruct anyone to act on a result.

If the calculation is wrong, that is on us. Tell us through Contact and it will be checked and corrected.

This page is not a blanket exclusion of the operator's legal liability. The scope of liability and its limits are set out in the Terms of Service, and liability for intent or gross negligence is not excluded.

Minimum age

This service is meant for users who can read this notice and judge it for themselves.

• Korea: under 14 (Personal Information Protection Act, art. 22-2)
• European Economic Area: under 16 (GDPR art. 8)
• United States: under 13 (COPPA)

Children in those age groups are not intended users, and this service is not directed at them. Account sign-in is not itself reliable proof of age. Any age-screening or parental-consent flow required before launch must be configured for the applicable region; parents and guardians should supervise use.
